The Adolescent Initiative Project is proud to be a member of the New York City Association of Homeless and Street-Involved Youth Organizations. The Association is a coalition of service providers, organizations and youth. We believe that by coordinating services, plannning strategies and speaking in a unified voice, we can advocate for and more effectively respond to the needs of homeless and street-oriented youth to lead safe, healthy and self-empowered lives. Members of the Association represent a broad array of services aimed at homeless youth and represents the best in service coordination. We are pleased to be a part of it!

The ARGUS Community Inc. ACCESS Program

The Brotherhood/Sister Sol

provides support, guidance and love to Black and Latino youth through five interconnected programs. The Brother/Sister Sol Development Program creates a safe space in Harlem public secondary schools where youth define what it means to be a man/woman, brother/sister and leader in a 4-6 year intensive rights of passage. The After School Program provides daily educational, cultural and creative opportunities for youth 7-18. The Liberation Program trains youth to become grassroots organizers fighting for social justice. The Summer Leadership Program offers month-long study programs in Africa & Latin America, provides job training and internships and offers a daily day camp to our youngest members. Community Activities

Girls for Gender Equity, Inc.

is recruiting girls 15-18 years old who live or attend school in Brooklyn, NY for a free summer photography program "Through Her Eyes". Participants will become familiar with the parts of a camera, different kinds of cameras, how to use photography to communicate an idea. At the end of the program, each participant will have her photo project displayed at the Empire State Building and will receive a photography book that includes some of her photos. Initiative is seeking dynamic high school students to train other NYC youth about their rights to health care. The THI Peer Educators meet weekly and deliver workshops throughout the five boroughs. Peer educators will meet with doctors, lawyers, and leaders that represent the reproductive rights movement in New York and the United States, earn seven to nine dollars an hour, and enjoy delicious multicultural take-out food and, most importantly, have a fabulous time.
